Rock and Roll Marathon invades San Diego
Every year approximately 20,000 runners and walkers assemble in the streets of San Diego to participate in the annual San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon. This year’s event will take place this Sunday, June 6th at 6:00am. The race has become one of America’s fastest growing in popularity and most scenic courses to participate in. This very uniquely designed course races through the picturesque Balboa Park into the streets of downtown and intertwines through Mission Bay Park. This year’s race is currently sold out and if you would like to partake in next year’s event you must save the date NOW. The Race will take place next year June 5th, 2011.
Here are some very helpful spectator tips you can take advantage of in order to keep track of your favorite racer. Make sure you know the projected finish time of you runner. Always be sure to discuss a post-race reunion schedule and plan with your runner before the beginning of the race. To assist you in reconnecting with your runner, there are very large alphabetical signs that are posted in the Family Reunion area near the Finish Line. If you would like to see the race take place, we suggest you take public transportation or the San Diego Trolley.
